To generate more storage options, you should look at the updated Elevate rack system. This rack system is engineered to be the perfect complement to tonneau covers such as the Extang Xceed, BAK Revolver, Truxedo Roll - Ups, and other covers that mount inside your truck's bed rails. The rack is also perfect for trucks equipped with a Retrax XR and Roll-N-Lock XT tonneau covers, as it can install directly into the cover's T-Slot rails.

The rack - whether you get the CS or the FS rack it has an adjustable height of 18, 23 or 28 inches. Set at 18 inches, it provides easy access and a lower profile look. At 28 inches, it gives you complete cab clearance when it is required for the hauling of larger objects. This rack has the flexibility of being installed, adjusted, or taken off in a matter of minutes.

The Elevate rack is built to last, with its strong aluminum construction and a heavy-duty powdercoat finish has a 750-pound static weight capacity. On road weight capacity is 500 pounds - if you need it for off roading, then it is a 250-pound weight capacity. That makes it strong enough to transport baskets, bikes, ladders - and so many other objects!

The t-slot channels were created the accept various tie downs and many other accessories. There is some assembly required for the elevate rack, and average install time is about 30 minutes. If the rails also need to be installed, the average time to install the rack and rails is about 60 minutes.

Reviews

  • I just bought a Truxedo 1118570 Elevated FS rack installed on a 2025 Silverado 2500 ZR2. the rack whistles when I'm driving are there any fixes for this?

    Jim Burke | 6/10/2025
It's common for roof racks to produce wind noise, and even whistling, especially at higher speeds. Here are some potential fixes and adjustments you can try for your Truxedo 1118570 Elevate FS rack on your Silverado 2500 ZR2:
    • Adjusting Crossbar Placement:
      • One common cause of whistling is the placement of the crossbars.
      • Try moving the crossbars farther apart. The one near the front of the vehicle being too far back can create a pronounced whistling sound.
      • Ideally, position the cross rails closer to the front and rear of your truck's roof rails.
    • Covering Open Channels:
      • If your rack has any open channels or slots, especially those running perpendicular to the wind flow, they can create whistling or humming sounds.
      • Consider covering these channels with materials like foam tape or rubber strips to help reduce the noise.
    • Check for Proper Installation:
      • Ensure all bolts and components of the rack are properly seated and tightened. Gaps or loose parts can contribute to wind noise.
    • Consider Aerodynamic Accessories:
      • While not specific to the Truxedo Elevate FS, some racks benefit from adding a wind deflector or fairing to the front crossbar. This can help redirect airflow and reduce whistling.
    • Contact Truxedo Support:
      • If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Truxedo's customer support. They may have specific recommendations or troubleshooting steps for your Elevate FS rack.
Important Note: The whistling could be due to a combination of factors related to the rack's design, its interaction with the specific aerodynamics of your Silverado 2500 ZR2, and potentially the installation itself. Experimenting with the placement and ensuring a secure, sealed fit is usually the first step to reducing the noise
