The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

2025 Rule Changes

For 2025, we’ve made a few important changes to the Dyno competition rules to make things more competitive and more enjoyable for everyone involved. The biggest update is how trucks are classed. Instead of using both horsepower and combined numbers, we are now using combined horsepower and torque only to determine class placement. This simplifies the process and keeps the focus on overall performance. We’ve also adjusted the breakout thresholds. Work Stock now tops out at 1950 combined, and Limited Stock goes up to 2950 combined. Anything above that falls into the Unlimited class. These changes are not about us. The Dyno comp is for our customers. We want this event to be fair, exciting, and worth coming back to every year, so we’ll continue making small tweaks to keep things fun and competitive.

Dyno Competition Rules

General Rules
Each truck gets 2 runs. The run with the highest combined horsepower and torque will be used as your entry into the competition. You may not select a lower result in order to remain in a preferred class.

A truck may only enter each class once. If your truck breaks out of a class based on its combined number, it cannot re-enter that class. You may buy back into the higher class, but only the highest combined number from that class will count. A truck cannot place more than once in the same class.

Example: A truck entered in Work Stock makes a combined number of 2000. That truck is now bumped into the Limited Stock class. You may buy another entry into the Limited Stock class and try to post a better number.

Winners will be determined by the highest combined horsepower and torque number from a single run.

Payouts
Payouts are guaranteed for all places in each class, regardless of the number of entries. Once a total of 30 trucks (competition and non-competition) is registered to dyno, we will guarantee all 5 payout spots in each class. Additional payouts may be added based on participation.

Class Rules

Work Stock
Work Stock is for full-bodied, daily-driven diesel pickup trucks. Valid DOT registration and license plates are required.

  • Chassis: OEM chassis required. Engine must be in the stock location for the body used. Wheel tubs, back-half conversions, and tube chassis are not allowed.
  • Engine: Must be a stock-appearing OEM compression ignition engine originally available in a one-ton or smaller truck.
  • Driveline: OEM transmission and transfer case required. Must be an available option for a one-ton or smaller pickup.
  • Tires: No racing slicks allowed.
  • Additives: Water meth, propane, and nitrous are not allowed.

Power Bracket:
Work Stock trucks must have a combined horsepower and torque number less than 1950. Any truck with a combined number of 1950 or higher will be bumped into Limited Stock.

Limited Stock
Limited Stock is for street-drivable trucks with a broader range of performance upgrades. Valid DOT registration and plates are required.

  • Chassis: OEM chassis required. Engine must be in the stock location. No wheel tubs, back-half conversions, or tube chassis.
  • Engine: Must be a stock-appearing OEM compression ignition engine from a one-ton or smaller truck.
  • Tires: No racing slicks allowed.
  • Additives: Water meth, propane, and nitrous are not allowed.

Power Bracket:
Limited Stock trucks must have a combined horsepower and torque number less than 2950. Trucks at 2950 or higher will be bumped into the Unlimited class.

Unlimited
Unlimited is for competition vehicles.

  • Additives: Water meth, propane, and nitrous are allowed. Fogging is not allowed.
  • Tires: No racing slicks allowed.

Power Bracket:
Unlimited includes any truck with a combined horsepower and torque number of 2950 or more. There is no upper limit.

Show and Shine Rules

Rule 1 – HAVE FUN!
Rule 2 – Vehicle must have a diesel engine. Conversions are accepted as long as the current engine is a diesel motor.
Rule 3 – All Show & Shine Registration must be completed prior to judging.
Rule 4 – Judge’s rulings are final.

Judging

The judges are comparing vehicles against each other and not looking at vehicles as they would be straight out of the showroom. Trucks will be judged for the workmanship, detailed tidiness and cleanliness.
You do not have to be at your car when it is judged but you must ensure that the car is unlocked and the judges have access to the engine bay. It will not be judged if there is no access.

EXTERIOR: As some of these vehicles are driven daily. Points are not usually deducted for paint chips, and normal fair wear & tear; judges are looking more for detail to cleanliness and effort of presentation.

Pay attention for polish residue left behind, dirt on the paintwork, especially around the seams, gutters, and around hinges and handles, inspect paintwork from different angles for signs of streaking and swirl marks.

INTERIOR: Detail here should be towards cleanliness and tidiness, Judges are looking for rubbish and dirt in door pockets, and unnecessary items on the parcel shelf.

UNDER CARRIAGE, WHEELS and TIRES: Again remembering some vehicles are driven daily and will show signs of normal use, dents and scratches, etc.
Attention should be towards cleanliness, attention to effort to remove oil, dirt, and road grime and brake dust.

ENGINE BAY: Cleanliness, attention to detail, and effort in presentation are important and key factors to look out for. Look around the base of Master Cylinders for oil and dirt, check the back of the Rocker Cover, and again judges are generally looking for effort in cleaning and presentation.

Owners should note that there are no specific security personnel patrolling our show area and the care of your car is your own responsibility. Thus we request that you keep an eye on your vehicle, or make arrangements with someone nearby to do so, should you need to move away during the day. If you are participating in the dyno competition as well please make the head judges aware so they can accommodate you.
