68RFE Custom Coated Transmission Pump Plate Another RevMax exclusive item. This pump plate is a must do on any 68RFE rebuild. We started with a custom laser cut steel alloy plate which is then heat treated to insure flatness and hardness. We then applied our proprietary friction reducing and self-lubricating electrostatically applied coating. This coating reduces pump wear from the pump gears by decreasing surface friction and increasing lubrication during dry startups. The factory plate is typically found to have excessive grooving in it and should always be replaced during an overhaul. This plate will work with all factory pumps regardless of manufacture date and with aftermarket pumps.
