This clamp is to be used for trucks running an aftermarket turbo with an HX40DP2 or HX40DP3 downpipe. The stock turbo has a cast iron elbow that the stock clamp joins to. When you do an aftermarket turbo upgrade on second gen or third gen 5.9L Cummins trucks, you will do away with the cast iron elbow and the VBC4 clamps the downpipe directly to the turbo. This is a must for anyone purchasing an HX40 downpipe or for people purchasing an aftermarket turbo for any 94-07 trucks.
