The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

To make it easier to install a new front output shaft seal in a NP246, NP261HD, NP263HD, NP261XHD and NP263XHD transfer case the team at Merchant Automotive developed this CNC-machined billet aluminum seal driver. The driver features a durable anodized black finish with a laser etched logo and part number to make them easy to identify when sitting in your tool box.
Merchant Automotive Transfer Case Front Output Seal Driver Features:
FAQ: What kind of hammer should I use with the seal driver? For best results use a rubber or plastic hammer such as a dead-blow hammer. Do not use a metal hammer as the tool could be damaged. How do I set the seal depth while using the seal driver? The Merchant Automotive seal drivers are precision machined with positive stops to properly index and set the depth on your seals when properly used.
Can I replace the front output shaft seal with the transfer case installed in the vehicle?
Yes, after removing the front driveshaft the seal can be removed and replaced without removing the transfer case from the vehicle. Some people feel that it can be easier to remove the transfer case and replace the seals on a workbench though.
