We'll save you the spiel " if you want to know the backstory, see the original article (scroll down to the first entry). In short, the Rebels need taller rear springs than a standard 1500 " we had some from our standard 1500 project that were deemed too tall; voila, Rebel Coils. As these were prototypes, we ordered two more sets under a "Rebel" part number to confirm the production version would sit as the prototype did. Redundant, yes, but more testing and larger sample sizes never hurt before releasing product into the wild; we're not a company that beta-tests.

Today, we get our desert first. The Rebel Coils are done and the HD Coil Project has begun!

2021 Ram Rebel, EcoDiesel

First truck we called in was Dusty's " it's a 2021 Rebel EcoDiesel equipped with our Performance 2.5" System. As he was an early adopter, he's running the standard 1500 coils in the rear. Taking measurements at the fender, he sat 3/4" rear low. We popped in one of the two sets of Rebel coils and BAM, perfect Stance.

Performance 2.5 " 2021 Ram Rebel, EcoDiesel

Standard 1500 Coils Rebel Specific Coils
Front Fender to Floor 40.75" 40.75"
Rear Fender to Floor 40" 41.125"
Rear Frame to Axle Bump 5" 5.875"
Front Pinch Weld to Floor 17.5" 17.5"
Rear Pinch Weld to Floor 17.25" 17.75"

The above measurements detail the stance change in the Eco-Diesel Platform; the rear came up about 1" at the fender, 1/2" at the pinch weld and 7/8" measured at the bump stop. The best indicator of suspension height alteration is the bump-stop measurement as it isolates the change in suspension height ONLY. As you can see in the pictures, the stance is perfect. It's the ever-so-slight rake we look for to ensure the truck doesn't appear front-high.

EcoDiesel is in the bag; next up, we needed to check the Hemi to ensure it sat properly with the Rebel Springs.

2022 Ram Rebel, Hemi

The second test-truck we called in was Randy's " a 2022 Rebel, Hemi, in stock form aside from some aftermarket Fuel Wheels onto which Randy swapped the OEM Rebel tires. We struggled to find a local truck with a Hemi, no Multi-Function Tailgate or Ramboxes, that was equipped with our system to make a comparison changing nothing but the springs. Randy was eager to install our parts and we were after the overall stance when built so we brought him in.

Performance 2.5 " 2021 Ram Rebel, Hemi

STOCK TIRES Stock Performance 2.5 " Rebel Specific Coils
Front Fender to Floor 38.25" 40.75"
Rear Fender to Floor 40.125" 41.125"
Rear Frame to Axle Bump 5.625" 6.5"
Front Pinch Weld to Floor 15.375" 17.5"
Rear Pinch Weld to Floor 16.375" 17.875"

We are officially signed off on the Rebel Platform. The Hemi and Ecodiesel sit perfect with the Rebel-specific rear coil springs as detailed in the above measurements. This is, again, with no Multi-Function Tailgate or Ram Boxes. We do not have any accommodation for these options as they complicate each application to which they're added given their additional heft.

Ram 1500 (non Rebel) could likely install the Rebel springs to accommodate both options, one or the other"¦ This will require testing and there are so many combos, we've not yet done this.

We've also introduced our HD Springs " These springs were designed with overlanders, contractors, camper shells/decked users, Rebels with MFT and Ramboxes, etc. There are so many variants of constant loads in these rigs that we'll list our HD spec and it'll be up to users to ensure their application meets the published weight standard.
