  • Dry Filter:
Airflow Rating 33.71% more airflow than stock intake
Efficiency Rating 99.66% efficient @ 580 CFM (ISO Coarse Dust)

S&B sets the bar high with its new Intake for the Ford Powerstroke 6.7L

S&B's new cold air intake kit upgrade for the 2011-16 Ford Powerstroke 6.7L is now shipping. Now featuring a redesigned one piece air box with S&B's signature large clear lid. Our intake tube is designed to minimize restriction and utilizes our new and innovative silicone tube seal that compensates for engine movement while still providing an effective seal against unwanted engine heat. Each intake kit is available in your choice of either cotton (cleanable) or dry (extendable) filter media.

Diesel engines consume air at a much higher rate than most gas vehicles. The speed of air flow is referred to in cubic feet per minute (CFM). The higher the CFM, the more difficult it is to stop the contaminants from reaching the vehicles engine. S&B designed a filter specifically targeting the diesel marketplace using 8-layers of cotton, a proprietary oil formula and 30 years of experience making filters. The result is a Performance Air Filter that greatly improves the air flow while still protecting your engine. S&B's minimum requirement for efficiency on diesel filters is 99.1%.

Amazing Protection.
S&B tests to the ISO 5011 Test Standard to insure that your engine is properly protected.

Almost Installs Itself.
S&B used its laster CMM to help develop a kit that fits like a glove and installs in less than 30 minutes.

Larger Free Flowing Filter with Deep Pleats.
The deeper the pleats, the more surface area on your filter which allow it to protect your engine while letting it breathe.

Domed Clear Lid.
Easy inspection and removal of filter.

Radius on Filter Inlet.
Air smoothly enters the intake tube reducing restriction and turbulence.

Integrates OEM Filter Minder.
Securely plugs into S&B custom air box.

Engineered Mass Air Sensor Location.
Designed to avoid a check engine light by mapping against the stock system.

Hump Hose Adapter.
A flexible but secure connection that accommodates engine movement.

Reinforced (4-ply) Silicone Adapter.
Safely and securely connects tube to turbo inlet.

Integrates OEM Cold Air Ducting.
Pulls air from the same location as the stock system allowing for use of the OE ducting for an excellent seal.

Huge Free Flowing Air Box.
Protects filter from engine heat without choking off filter.

Reviews

  • I have a 2016 F-450 (not a cab chassis) pickup and see it is not listed in the vehicles that it will fit. Would this still work on my truck with the 6.7 powerstroke?

    Matt | 5/29/2020

    Yes. It will fit.

  • Are S&B Intake Kits Easy To Install?

    Eric Schumann | 5/16/2019

The installation process for an S&B Intake Kit is extremely straight forward and can usually be completed in less than 30 minutes using only standard tools.

  • Will An S&B Intake Kit Or Filter Void My Warranty?

    Eric Schumann | 5/16/2019

Installing an S&B Intake Kit or Filter will not void your vehicle's warranty as long as you follow the proper procedures found in the Vehicle, your Warranty is Safe. It is illegal for a dealership to void your warranty based solely on the fact that you have installed an aftermarket product. Your rights are protected by the Consumer Product Warranties Law, often referred to as the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

  • Will An S&B Filter Or Intake Kit Improve My Fuel Economy?

    Eric Schumann | 5/16/2019

The simple answer is yes. By lowering the restriction level versus stock, the S&B Intake allows the engine to work more efficiently which will improve fuel economy. According to the Department of Energy, a dirty air filter will have an adverse affect on fuel economy. Fueleconomy.gov states that replacing a clogged air filter can improve your car's gas mileage by as much as 10 percent. (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/maintain.shtml) The reason a clean filter improves fuel economy is because it is less restrictive than a dirty filter, so the engine works less to consume the air it needs. This S&B Intake Kit is substantially less restrictive than the OE induction system with a clean filter installed thus allowing the engine to breathe even easier which results in better fuel economy. S&B does not make a specific claim with regards to fuel economy because there are too many factors that can affect your miles per gallon.

  • How Often Should I Service (Clean) My Filter?

    Eric Schumann | 5/16/2019

The cleaning interval will depend on your driving conditions. We recommend that you inspect your filter every oil change or 6,000 miles. If debris has built up on your filter equal to the height of the wire mesh, your filter should be cleaned and oiled. Servicing your filter more frequently will result in better performance. At a minimum, the air filter should be properly serviced using a Precision Cleaning & Oiling Kit every 12,000 miles.

  • Will The Oil On The Filter Damage My Vehicle's Mass Air Sensor?

    Eric Schumann | 5/16/2019

No! In fact, many OE paper filters contain oil in order to improve the efficiency of the filter. S&B uses robotics to precisely apply the correct amount of oil at the factory and provides consumers with the Precision Cleaning & Oiling Kit to properly service the filter in the field. Oil could potentially damage the mass air sensor only if it is over-applied.

  • Do I Want An Oiled Or Dry Cold Air Intake System?

    Eric Schumann | 5/16/2019

When you think about cold air intakes, there are two main components to consider. First is air filtration. When comparing oiled filters to dry filters the oiled will always filter out more particulate than the dry filter will. The added oil allows the cotton fibers in the filter element to trap more particulate matter as the air passes through it. The downfall is that in dusty environments the oil filters tend to get dirty quicker than the dry filter will.

The second component to consider on a cold air intake is performance, or how much air flow it allows. From the tests that we have seen, there is no difference in air flow between an oiled filter or a dry filter, if they are both clean. However, as we stated before the oiled filter will catch more particulate and become dirty quicker than the dry filter will. As a filter becomes dirtier, its performance decreases due to excess particulate matter restricting the air flow. Therefore, a dry filter will provide more performance over a longer period of time than an oiled filter will.

For daily driven trucks we recommend oiled filters, unless the truck is driven in an extremely dusty environment. We feel that the extra filtration power added by the oil is worth sacrificing the 1 or 2 extra horsepower you might get from using a dry filter.
