Product Details

Product Name: BD Diesel 6R140 Pressure Enhancer Solenoid
Manufacturer: BD Diesel
Manufacturer Part #: 1030385
Thoroughbred Diesel Part #: BDD1030385
Fitment Notes: 2011-2019 Ford Powerstroke 6.7L

The Ford 6R140 transmission varies line pressure between 70 and 170 psi. This works well for stock trucks but for heavy Duty use and higher horsepower applications this may be insufficient.

BD’s PressureLoc for the 6R140 is a solenoid replacement that overrides the transmission line pressure to maximize output enabling the transmission to handle higher horsepower. The BD PressureLoc will allow the transmission to produce 250-300psi, substantially increasing clutch holding power which prevents clutch slippage and premature clutch failure.

  • Will not conflict with existing transmission tuning.
  • Delivers up to 320 PSI of apply pressure
  • 79% increase in holding power
  • Prevents clutch slippage
  • Prevents shift flare
  • Increased durability due to higher clutch holding capacity
  • Fast and simple installation
  • No tuning required

Reviews

  • I have a 2014 6.7 powerstroke stock just a tow for the delete. Would this solenoid make hard shifts or it good to go.

    David | 2/23/2024

This item is designed to increase line pressures in the 6R140. If lack of line pressure is the issue, yes

  • Is this solenoid the same thing as a tourqe converter clutch solenoid. I'm getting a tourqe converter clutch solenoid code p0741 as tourqe converter clutch solenoid stuck off. Is this the same solenoid that I need to replace.

    David Bennington | 2/21/2024

PO 741 is a non electrical DTC. The TCC failed to apply after 3 consecutive commands from the TCM .

  • Will this solenoid make your transmission shift hard or harsh engagement

    Brandon Ryan | 7/19/2023

    No

  • I have a 2011 ford f350 6.7 and since I tuned it 3rd gear seems to have a secondary as in it shifts but it’s shifts twice there’s no clunking or hard engagement and the shifts are firm nothing out of the ordinary for a tune but would this solenoid help that situation

    Brandon Ryan | 7/18/2023

    Yes, Prevents shift flares.

  • I have a 2015 6.7 I have a ez link tuner with tunes from same day tuning will the solenoid work with my custom tunes ? I have 0hp-200hp

    William coffin | 2/8/2023

Yes, Will not conflict with existing transmission tuning.

  • Hi why would the solenoid work only on the 6.7 diesel engines and not on the 6.2L gas engine what is the difference isn't the 6R140 same transmission for both applications. Thanks in advance.

    Jesus Nava | 1/29/2023

Manufacturer has designed for the 6.7l diesel .

  • I have a 2013 f350 and I’m the mornings when I first crank my truck my transmission gives me shift problems. The most common thing is it not going into reverse right away and when I put it in drive it usually shifts to 5th gear and will eventually downshift to first and be stuck in 1st for a while then after it does that I don’t have any problems anymore. Was wondering if this specific pressure enhancer would fix it

    Conner Sanders | 1/19/2022

The pressure enhancer is designed to increase line pressures. If you have a mechanical transmission issue this will not fix it.

  • I have a 2015 6.7 Super Duty. Sometimes when I first start it in the morning the trans will not engage. I have to shift back and forth from reverse to drive and eventually it will engage. This is an intermittent problem which happens more when its cold or sits for a couple days. Will this solenoid solve the problem? It seams quite a few Super Duty owners have been having this problem but there doesn't seem to be a specific fix for it.

    David Martin | 8/4/2021

This product will help with line pressures. Which may help with your issue.

  • Will this work on the 19 PSD with the 6r140 transmission

    Dillon Jones | 7/14/2021

    Yes.

  • What is considered "safe" pressures in the 6r140 transmission? Is making psi up into the 300's within the safe pressure range? Is there a chance that this can over pressure a line or hydraulic circuit with the higher pressures?

    Aaron Hammer | 3/22/2021

320 psi max. yes will help the life in higher horsepower applications. No.

  • What exactly does this solenoid do? My truck is deleted with no 40hp tow tune and I use it as a daily driver with occasional towing.

    Myron Jackson | 3/4/2021

BD PressureLoc will allow the transmission to produce 250-300psi, substantially increasing clutch holding power which prevents clutch slippage and premature clutch failure.

  • I’m working on a 6.7 Diesel F550 2013 work truck(septic) stock can I use this solenoid safely to raise line pressure? Like I said NO TUNE liked the product but have only used it with high performance tuners this truck is a workhorse looking to give the trans a chance just landed the account.

    Michael | 11/18/2020

This works well for stock trucks, No tuning required.

  • Hello I have a 2011 F250 6.2L gas. And i have it installed today. It’s running the trans without any issues will let you know if i have any issues. I had shift flair ups 3-4 and down shift 2-1. Now it’s smooth ups and down shifts. Thank you.

    Al | 10/20/2020

    Thank you.

  • Hi there. 16 f250, 68k, mild tune 50hp to be exact. Just had transmission filter/fluid changed. When normal driving shifts fine. When a little aggressive on throttle it slips. Didn’t do this before. Would this part help or did changing filter/fluid cause underlying issues I knew nothing about?

    Chris | 4/30/2020

If the transmission fluid did not look discolored and no clutch material. This product should help keep line pressure where it should be.

  • There seems to be some lag between 3rd and 4th gear on my transmission when shifting at a low rpm. Will this solenoid help that?

    chris guay | 3/22/2020

If your truck is throwing a gov pressure code you will want to start here.  Lazy gov pressure usually is the cause of erratic shifts but this may not be the fix completely as all truck are different.  It will however be a great upgrade from your stock unit.

  • Does it increase line pressure throughout or just at full throttle, what about effect on Tow n Haul mode?

    Brian | 10/12/2019

This product is designed to increase line pressure throughout the regiment.

  • Does the use of this solenoid require tuning?

    Bryan | 7/27/2019

    No tuning required!

  • I'm having slippage from 3rd to 4th an 4th to 5th I have 74000 miles on my transmission I also have a tune .Do you think this will help me ? I have took the truck to the shop they said it pressure is normal

    Lonnie Kisner | 7/9/2019

I don’t think that this will solve your problem completely, if you have had slippage for awhile there could be damage to the clutch packs.  Give us a call at 859-737-4966 and let us see if we can help.

  • Will this solenoid work with a 6R140 paired to a 6.2l gas F350. I do a lot of towing in the summer and fall and dont want to hurt my transmission. In the fall a pull a 24,000 pound grain trailer which comes out to 33,000 pounds GCW and i would like to know if this product would help keep my transmission safer. Thank you for your time.

    Robert | 5/4/2019

This solenoid only works with the 6R140 paired with the 6.7 Powerstroke diesel.

  • Will this work with a 6.2l super duty with the same transmission? I have a tune (i know im not making the power of a diesel) but i tow very heavy trailers in the fall and dont want to hurt my trans.

    Robert | 4/30/2019

Unfortunately this will not work with the gas transmissions.
