Priming Concerns During Installation

We have had a few calls concerning priming the FASS Systems, not the HPFP's, during the installation process. We have discovered some of the Viton by-pass balls are not perfectly round creating a priming issue. However, once the ball is subjected to the fuel, the seal is complete.

We have added this simple procedure to address all concerns, starting with serial number 15207 for the FASS 150 Series and serial number 2360 for the FASS 95 Series. For uninstalled units before these serial numbers we have come up with a simple solution.

Before the installation, review the following process:

Remove the pump assembly, the upside down T block. Notice the 5/8 ball; apply some grease to the ball seat and place ball back into place. Reinstall pump assembly making sure the 2 o-rings are still in place; torque the 4 bolts to 110inch lbs using a criss- cross fashion. Note the o-rings are located on the pump assembly of the FASS 95 Series, it may be necessary to apply grease to keep the o-rings in place during assembly.

We are researching a more perfectly round Viton by-pass ball, I am truly sorry for any inconvenience.

Thank you, for your continued support and be sure to call us at 866-737-4966 with any questions.
