Manufacturer: AFE
Manufacturer Part #: 51-32412
Thoroughbred Diesel Part #: AFE51-32412
Fitment Notes: aFe Pro Dry S Magnum Force Stage 2 Intake System - 13-18 Dodge Cummins 6.7L - 51-32412

The aFe Stage 2 cold air intake is a highly engineered powder-coated heat-shielded air box with a one-piece intake tube. Handling filtration duties is the PRO DRY S performance air filter that features 3-layers of synthetic "oil-free" media. The PRO DRY S filter is constructed with 100% polyurethane for long life and multiple cleaning cycles. The heat-insulating, molded plastic intake tube adapts to the stock intake elbow making it easier for installation. The tube is also engineered for improved volumetric efficiency and maximum performance while lowering Intake Air Temps (I.A.T.). Utilizing factory mounting points, this system provides a hassle-free installation.

One Piece Powder-Coated Steel Heat-Shield: A one-piece powder-coated steel heat-shield is used to keep the air intake charge cool and dense. Designed to bolt directly to the bottom half of the stock air box, the heat-shield incorporates the use of the factory RAM active air.

Huge 5" Flange 360 Degree Air Filter: A huge inverted cone 360 degree radial flow air filter is used for maximum filtration (99.2% efficient) and convenience (requires no oils to clean). The PRO DRY S performance air filter features 3-layers of synthetic "oil-free" media and is constructed with 100% polyurethane for long life and multiple cleaning cycles.

Rotomolded Tube: Rotomolded intake tube is engineered for improved volumetric efficiency and maximum performance while lowering Intake Air Temps (I.A.T.). The tube connects to the stock intake elbow for added convenience and quicker installation.

Hassle-Free Installation: aFe has developed this intake to provide a hassle-free installation that utilizes all factory mounting locations minimizing the use of unnecessary hardware.

  • Do I Want An Oiled Or Dry Cold Air Intake System?

    Eric Schumann | 5/16/2019

When you think about cold air intakes, there are two main components to consider. First is air filtration. When comparing oiled filters to dry filters the oiled will always filter out more particulate than the dry filter will. The added oil allows the cotton fibers in the filter element to trap more particulate matter as the air passes through it. The downfall is that in dusty environments the oil filters tend to get dirty quicker than the dry filter will.

The second component to consider on a cold air intake is performance, or how much air flow it allows. From the tests that we have seen, there is no difference in air flow between an oiled filter or a dry filter, if they are both clean. However, as we stated before the oiled filter will catch more particulate and become dirty quicker than the dry filter will. As a filter becomes dirtier, its performance decreases due to excess particulate matter restricting the air flow. Therefore, a dry filter will provide more performance over a longer period of time than an oiled filter will.

For daily driven trucks we recommend oiled filters, unless the truck is driven in an extremely dusty environment. We feel that the extra filtration power added by the oil is worth sacrificing the 1 or 2 extra horsepower you might get from using a dry filter.
