Dodge Cummins,High horsepower engines require modifications to their power train to prevent the transmissions from failing. A stock transmission has limited clutch material and its holding ability can be improved by increasing the amount of clutch apply pressure by reworking the stock valve body.

New valve designs, new springs, oil port sizes, new governor piston dimensions and adjustments have been made. Larger ports increase flow rates which cools the oil and reduces convertor oil evacuation time for quicker clutch apply time. Solenoids are pretested as is the complete valve body prior to shipping.

BD also has 2nd gear lock up available so you can use 2nd gear for some serious engine retarding. A TorqLoc switch will have to be used to activate this function.

If you have an extremely high horsepower engine we can preset the valve body for pressures up to 180 psi! Normal applications are usually set for 100 psi.

Each valve body is tested on our Answermatic 2000 tester before shipping. Take a look at the installation procedure. It is available under the button on the right hand side of the screen!!

GM Duramax, Modified, tuned and tested BD's Allison 1000 valve body prevents clutch slippage!& New trim valves are installed to match the mainline pressure giving more clamping force on the clutch plates.& Surfaces are lapped to ensure no internal leakage which can cause shift irregularities, clutch pack pressure loss and lube oil loss. All of these issues lead to premature failure of internal transmission components, error codes lighting up the dash and driver dissatisfaction that BD's valve body will help prevent.

The Allison exchange valve body saves installation time over installing a shift kit.& In less then 2 hours you can be back on the road with confidence your transmission is holding up to the loads you are pulling or the increases in power produced by installed performance boxes and tuners.

The Allison valve body is a must for trucks towing moderate loads or racers who have increases of 90rwhp to 120rwhp.& For heavy haulers or extreme power, we suggest further transmission modifications or exchange out with one of our heavy Duty transmissions and convertors.
