SunCoast initially developed this converter for the fleet
customer who is on the road hot-shot driving, or pulling heavy
converter is 200-300 RPMs tighter than the factory converter.
This converter will not spool an aftermarket turbo very well
due to the efficiency of it. Your ideal customer for this
converter would be a customer that tows and hauls. In-town
fuel economy could improve with this torque converter.

SunCoast designs and manufactures their torque converters
in-house. Because of this, SunCoast can supply most any request
in regards to stall or torque multiplication. All SunCoast
triple disc converters are outfitted with a heavy duty forged
billet steel cover and give an unbeatable lock up performance.
The company's race series converter should be used in racing/pulling
applications that require a higher "stall" RPM than a standard
converter. Increased stall is usually needed in applications
where a larger turbo or turbos have been installed and more
RPM is required to get the turbo on boost while on the brakes
These HD converters feature a billet stator and will resist
damage to the stator section from excessive brake stalling
(over 5 seconds).
Our 1057-3D converter established a benchmark for performance
torque converters. Often referred to as theMcRat, it has set
numerous records at the strip since it's inception in
2005. Our #57 series incorporates a modified OEM stator and
is coupled with the “Velocity Series" impeller.
It allows good turbo spool-up with stock size turbos running
mild tunes and also offers more efficient fluid coupling than

stall, torque multiplication, efficiency, or other custom
application. The stall test and RPM drops were tested with
Stage V transmission, stock turbo with a 350HP tune, stock
size tires in our 3500 dually. The example stalls and RPM
drops are strictly to help you decide which may be best for
your truck. Big tires without gear swaps will raise your brake
stall test numbers.
