1998.5
- 2002 5.9L Cummins Engine.
The GT37R
dual ball-bearing turbo is a Garrett exclusive ball bearing
cartridge for unbeatable response, efficiency, and durability.
Elimination of the thrust bearing eliminates failures at elevated
boost levels. The upgrade results in lower intake and exhaust
gas temperatures as well as reduced backpressure for more
efficient air flow. The water-cooled center section with a
patented dual ball-bearing results in higher durability and
longer turbo life. Oil inlet fittings feature a built in restrictor
for worry-free operation.
High flow
compressor wheels move air quickly and powerfully. The maximum
recommended boost is 40 psi.

Advantages
of upgrade: ball bearing cartridge for unbeatable response,
efficiency and durability water-cooled center section for
increased durability, increased compressor flow capability
compared to stage 1 and 2 modern GT-series high-flow compressor,
and increased turbine wheel flow comparable to stages 1 and
2. The compressor wheel size (88mm vs 82mm) is compared to
stages 1 and 2.
For a
given performance level, this upgrade will provide:
1. Reductions in exhaust backpressure
2. Reductions in exhaust gas temperatures
3. Reduction in intake temperature |
