With an Edge Juice Module and Attitude In-Cab Controller combo,
performance is enhanced with five user selectable power levels and
the convenience of in-cab control module. The push-button access
toggles between lower-power modes for heavy towing up to Level 5
for maximum power. By communicating directly with your vehicle’s
computer, the Juice monitors and makes real time adjustments to
the engine, transmission and fuel system while In-Cab Controller
displays Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT), Engine Temp, and Boost Pressure
thereby alleviating the need for separate gauges. In addition, the
Juice keeps a close eye on the transmission load and decreases power
if any slippage is detected virtually eliminating downshifts while
towing.
The Edge Juice is a completely weatherproof module
that easily installs underneath the hood. With the addition of the
Attitude monitor you can add five levels of adjustable power ranging
- from 60 to 150 horsepower - and increase torque up to 350 foot
pounds. The Juice greatly improves responsiveness and driveability,
while at the same time increasing fuel economy.
With
the addition of the Edge Attitude Monitor , there will no longer
be a need for gauges. With the backlit LCD display screen, EGT temperatures
and boost readings will be displayed for easy and clear reading.
With the push of the mode button, you can switch power levels and
have adjustability on the fly.
The Edge Juice
communicates along the engine’s CAN-BUS data stream, from
which it receives vital engine, transmission, and fuel system information.
This enables the Juice to provide smooth and precise power curves
that are truly custom, rather than just an offset from stock.
The Juice also
monitors the transmission slippage when the torque converter clutch
is engaged. The power level is decreased if any slippage is detected.
This prevents damage from being caused to the transmission, and
also prevents the power train from erroneously generating fault
codes and entering “limp mode”.
The Juice also
limits the amount of power increase during transmission shifts when
the torque converter clutch is engaged and also when the torque
converter clutch is being engaged. This allows the torque converter
clutch to engage without slippage causing “limp mode”.

What
are EGT's?
EGT stands for exhaust gas temperature, and is the single most important
indicator of how a diesel engine is performing. Unlike a gasoline
motor, a diesel motor will continue to make power as more fuel is
added. As more fuel is added, heat will be generated until the motor
just gets too hot and things start to melt. This is a situation to
avoid. Exhaust gas temperature is the ideal measurement of how hot
the motor is, since temperature fluctuations in the gas are almost
instantaneous. You should consider using the Edge Attitude or installing
an EGT gauge even if you make no performance upgrades, since EGT is
such an important indicator of engine load. This is particularly if
you tow.
What
level should I tow in with Edge Juice Performance Module with Attitude
Monitor?
The only levels suitable for towing are levels 1 and 2. Only use
level 2 if you are towing a light load. Never tow without an EGT
gauge or an Attitude monitor. If you want to tow in a higher level,
you must make significant engine and transmission upgrades beyond
just a chip in order to handle the increase in power. It’s
that simple. Even though the Attitude monitors EGT and will automatically
de-fuel to prevent excessive EGT's, you should still only tow in
level 1.
Will
my Edge Juice Performance Module with Attitude Monitor work without
an EGT probe hooked up?
The module will function normally, however, you will not have the
safety feature of monitoring your EGT's and the Juice will not be
able to back down EGT's
Attitude In-Cab Controller, what is it?
Get on-the-fly power adjustability of your Juice Module with the
Attitude In-Cab Controller. It allows control of your Juice Module
from inside the cab with the touch of a button as well as instant
monitoring for the all-important Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT),
Engine Temp, Tranny Load and Boost Pressure. The compact unit is
designed to be mounted with the included swivel-arm mount or optional
A-pillar mount, which are available for select vehicles.
