Research Powerstep running boards are triggered by an electronic signal
from the vehicle's factory door sensors and extends to a convenient
stepping height in one second. The Powerstep running boards are powered
by a heavy-duty, weatherproof motor. The Powerstep is lowered when
any door is opened and Powerstep retracts when any door is closed.
At the optimal ergonomic height for proper entry and exit without
sacrificing ground clearance, it provides a natural step similar to
steps found in your home. All Powerstep running board components are
OEM quality and corrosion-resistant for long service life. The Powersteps
are designed to operate normally in all weather conditions and is

A
powerful solution to convenient vehicle entry and high ground clearance.
THE AMP Research Power Step by Bestop is the first fully automated
running board available on the market. The AMP Research Power Step
is triggered by an electronic signal from the vehicles factory door
sensors and extends to a convenient stepping height in about a second.
Powered by an encased motor that is mounted easily under the vehicle,
the AMP Research Power Step is lowered when any door is opened. A
closed door sends the automatic running board retracting to the neatly
concealed pocket behind the vehicles OEM rocker panels, so invisible,
you'll never even know it was there.
The step portion of the AMP Research Power Step
is a painted aluminum extrusion and is capable of handling up to
600 lbs. capacity per side. The step itself is wide and flat allowing
for good foot placement, and in the lowered position, it extends
outward 10-12" allowing occupants to take more of a natural
step in or out of the vehicle. A no-slip textured surface allows
for usage in all weather conditions. The AMP Research Power Step
has been tested in a variety of environments and temperatures from
-40F to +200F.

announces new AMP Research Power Step Light Kit |

Broomfield,
CO. (February 5, 2007)…The high step-in heights of lifted trucks
and SUVs can make getting in or out difficult, especially in the dark.
That is why Bestop is stocking the AMP Research easy to install Light
Kit for its popular Power Step running boards. The new AMP Research
Light Kit, when installed with Power Step running boards, provides
sure footing for the driver and passengers at night. Open
any door and four ultra bright white LEDs light the surface of the
automatically deployed Power Step. These rugged lights are strategically
placed for broad coverage of the step surface for maximum visibility
and are reliable in the most extreme conditions For your safety,
the lights will stay lit for a full five minutes when the door is
left open, allowing plenty of tim e for entry or exit. Close the
door and the lights go out automatically as the Power Step retracts.
Designed to work with all AMP Power Step applications,
Light Kit installation can be completed in under an hour by simply
plugging the OEM quality wiring harness into the Power Step Control
Module and mounting the low profile LED lamps to the underside of
the vehicle’s rocker panels with provided adhesive fasteners.
(Older models can be updated with new-style controller.)
