The purpose of this kit is to sufficiently filter diesel fuel
entering the Duramax system. The GM/Racor design of the factory
fuel filter has been poor and the primary design concern was
cost. This fuel filter kit will not only help filter your fuel
properly but it will lengthen the fuel filter change interval.
The kit is designed to flow enough fuel to support 500HP and
still filter down to 5 micron absolute. Also, the filter supplied
with the kit has the largest pleat area available.
The
OEM Duramax fuel filter was designed to provide adequate flow and
filtration at the stock horsepower level, but simply doesn't have
enough surface area to hold the dirt when the engine is modified and
fuel flow is increased. Exceeding the flow limit of the stock filter
causes it to get dirty more quickly, resulting in a restriction that
hurts performance.
BD’s Remote Fuel
Filter Kit features additional media surface that holds the dirt
and flows enough fuel to support 600 horsepower. At the same time,
it is incredibly effective at filtration, stopping particles down
to two microns nominal, five microns absolute. The Remote Fuel Filter
Kit mounts to the frame rail before the stock fuel filter, relegating
it to water separation duty. With the BD Remote Fuel Filter Kit,
you’ll get better filtration, better flow, and lengthened
fuel filter change intervals.
